Platt, you tried to connect $ with philosophical
pursuit with only at the academy. At least, that's
what I was reading, and from what Marsha says above,
you, Platt, are missing the point trying to be made.
Pirsig was NOT supported by the academy, right?, when
he pursued the MoQ to be a philosophy. The academy
didn't support him, and so he wrote a book about his
pursuit that, yes, included the academy, but also
included a bike ride across the western region of
North America. Now above your changing the issue to $
alone, which before it was only those that pursuit
philosophy have $ and that pursuit alone is at the
academy since you pointed out, "I thought everyone
knows that the Academy is supported by money." You,
Platt, seem to be narrowing the perspective that
philosophy-$-academy are inseparable. Take one out
and the others disappear. That's how your perspective
is coming across, at least to me.
