Not sure if the relevant BBC recordings are part of the long term archive ? You may have to follow the Sue Blackmore link to the discussion on "A Good Read", where the subject was the Harris book. "Strong views lightly held," I was suggesting is preferable to "nuke the bastards". The orginal quote is about knowing what you think you know based on "strong" arguments, rather than superstition and hearsay, and being prepared to defend them as such, but not forgetting that in having a strong view, not to hold onto them so tightly that you either (a) miss the need to modify them in the light of evidence, or (b) accidentally start physically beating people up with them. Just a piece of short-hand I picked up from another blogger, in another realm. Thanks for the additional link.
