Platt: There's a history all right. Islam goes back thousands of years calling for ruling the world by the sword. Hard to "dialogue" with an someone who has a knife at your throat.

Now, I don't know enough about the Bible or the Koran but Jesus had said that he came with a sword, not to cut people's limbs off but, meaning, his teachings would divide people from eachother in the context of saying: look if you want to follow me (into the Kingdom of Heaven...Quality??),leave your parents,leave your friends, give your money to the poor...etc,etc ...in MoQ parlance: break down your static patterns and learn to know thyself. Platt: All courts are backed by guns, tanks, bombs and other weapons used by the police and military. But, I guess you are implying that Saddam shouldn't have been tried and executed for murder. Andre: No, he was, to put it euphemistically a bad, low quality set of patterns. What I am suggesting is: Why hang him so quickly? Why not have him expose, through this Court of Law, exactly how some Western countries, including America, had supportd him over the years. Would this information have been very embarrassing for some countries? He has never been tried for all the atrocities he has committed or had been committed in his name and with his fiat. The International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague, though not perfect, does get a lot of this stuff above desk, pretty well exposing e.g. the role of NATO and Dutch bat in the fall of Sebrenica.(8000 men slaughtered as part of an ethnic cleansing campaign). Platt: It's difficult to imagine that the intelligence services of many countries all conspired to lie to western leaders. Andre: Do not underestimate the power, extortion and blackmail games played by the US at the international level. Perhaps this has now come to an end, or is at least severely undermined due to the financial crisis, which will not express itself solely as being of a financial nature.
