It's not a real subtle or interesting point. I'd say it's pretty much obvious. Your basic subject/object outlook. Which is basically what we're discussing when we're discussing "self". It's the "S" in "SOM" I think the main point is in taking the "M" out of the "SO". Subject/Object personhood/otherhood is not the metaphysical basis of reality, it's just a real cool intellectual toy that happens to work great.
