Aristotle represent the SOM and thus the intellect, THAT is a great realization from your side (see what happens when you write "freely"?) but the Greeks was also a nation in constantly involved in armed conflict so it certainly had to value the social virtues of courage, duty to one's cause and willingness to sacrifice limbs and life. It goes for USA even if it is intellect-steeped and the objective approach to all things is required - even going to war needs an objectivation - a rationale based in preserving intellectual good.
