I wonder if there's a better way of formulating the relationship between the
big bang and gravity.  I mean,we say "big bang" and we get connotations of
explosions and all.  But in a way, the big bang was gravity, and nothing
else.  Just an expansion of gravity filling the universe and bringing stars,
planets and people into being.

Gravity as creator, rather than effect.

Yes, I've started to lean that way as well, that gravity pushes everything away from space, rather than pulling towards mass. That could possibly get rid of the dark matter and dark energy patches.
