Also, that cultural matrix can dissolve.  It may dissolve for only a few 
minutes.  The results may not be "insanity" but the cultural matrix never seems 
as substantial.  The entire matrix becomes like a mirage.  Authors like RMP, 
help prepare one for such experiences. Imho.
