There were many more ducks along 150th St. this morning vs. yesterday,
mainly more Canvasback, Redhead, and Lesser Scaup. The Greater
White-fronted Geese were still there as well. At Carver Park, 2
Eastern Meadowlarks were back singing from their usual spots. A
Golden-crowned Kinglet was along the dirt road leading to King Blind,
and some Fox Sparrow were mixed in with Juncos, Song, and Tree
Sparrows. Most of the larger bodies of water at Carver Park are still
fairly ice-covered except along the shores. By the end of this coming
week of warmth they should all be free of ice. 7 Trumpeter Swans were
scattered across the park. Otherwise there were a few each of Canada
Goose, Mallard, Wood Duck, Northern Shoveler, Hooded, and Common
Merganser.
