I read the Spokesman article about the redistricting process.  They said
that some sources said the NAACP plan inadvertently took Natalie Johnson
Lee out of the fifth ward.  There was also a pretty clear implication that
it may not have been a mistake.  The Spokesman also mentioned that the
Insight coverage of the same issue didn't mention this problem with the
NAACP plan.  

I also have to say I'm impressed by the quality of reporting in Spokesman.
I wish that we currently had gay press that does reporting of this quality.  

I too would like to thank Fred Markus for his reports on the process on
this list.
