[TB]  The Superintendent, doesn't really educate.  S/he leads a system
that does.  We need a person who will lead the system.

I have a great deal of respect for organizations that promote their
existing employees.  It shows that their respect for those that have
been doing a good job for the organization.  

The Board has someone that they know they can work with because they
have been doing it for the time that he has been COO.  No amount of
reference checking can replace that.

In this case, I think it was a big plus to have someone with some
experiece working outside an educational setting.  We are all a product
of all of our experiences and to bring in these outside the educational
arena experiences is a value many candidates don't have.

Those that forced Jennings to withdraw did the district no favors.
