Nevada law prohibits you from enforcing an expiration date on a gift certificate. You can use an expiration date to "entice" someone to use it in a timely fashion, however, if money passed hands, then they don't expire. https://nevadatreasurer.gov/Documents/Unclaimed/UnclaimedPropertyBrochure.pdf This brochure clearly states that property unused within 1-3 years must be turned over to the state. It would probably be a good idea for you to download the referenced Brochure to be certain if it is 1 or 3 years.
