The new Amiga isnt going to be targetted at the PC market much anyway
from what I have read. Gateway/Amiga seem to have their eye on a much
larger market and I get the impression that they are only producing a
new computer just to prevent complaints.
I dont think the Amiga will ever compete in the same market as the PC
again (the Escom fiasco saw to that). The success of the AmigaNG
would seem to depend on how willing people are to change the way they
think about computers. I will certainly be buying an AmigaNG at some
point as the UNIX style OS underlying the system appeals to me having
seen what UNIX is capable of when used correctly.
Chris probably knows more about the plans for AmigaNG than any of us,
having attended Amiga's developer conferences. Its a pity the
attendees are sworn to secrecy on much of the real meaty stuff :)
Anyway, enough of my ramblings before I get shouted at for going
off-topic :)
