    for a USR 14.4k or 28.8k Sportster modem, ATD only takes the modem 
off-hook. The modem will NOT dial with ATD alone. No dial string is 
complete without an appended "T" (for touchtone) or "P" (for pulse). 
The "ATD,T" string is one of several dial strings provided in 
Net-Tamer itself from its terminal setup screen. Press F3 after 
Net-Tamer starts, select option C, then option C from the subsequent 
setup menu, and review the several strings available there to verify 
that ATD,T is one such string. You step through those strings by 
pressing the "C" key until you've seen all available strings.
