It would indeed be Colston's appreciation of the "market", jaygee:

Though he might consider (perhaps, very perhaps) that there's a rather
much larger DOS-using public "out there" than the Nettamer-only users.
This public/market is either stuck with the - presently not further
developped - dosppp, or not yet online at all, because of the hassle
with latter, and the poor www performance of Nettamer.
Despite of the fact that Nettamer's author is on the record to despise
of the various Lynxes of being no match, these are by far the better
*browsers*; and they are further developped; and they are the only text
browsers worth that name which exist (anyone tried the W3C-own Amaya ?!
It's a bad joke, certainly in terms of SurvPCs or of scarce/expensive
bandwidth.) However, they - and a number of other fine net tools - all
ride on a rather weak horseback, ie. that dosppd.
It would be difficult to quantify but I dare guess that the potential
market of a good socket could be somewhere between some ten times and
a thousand times the present Nettamer user basis. (And there are lots
of newcomers - once a DOS setup works, it's much faster and simpler to
do mail, get at a web document. Between ten and twenty seconds to fire
up a laptop and get it online in DOS, compare that to the endless waits
with any of the alternatives.)
