Except that I managed to do it by _changing_ my e-mail address in the
default setup for cwnet.com _from_ "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" to
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and then sending mail via the cwnet.com smtp
server _to_ the Net-Tamer mailing list. The Net-Tamer mailing list
accepted the e-mail _because_ Net-Tamer puts the "default" e-mail
address into the message header. Cwnet.com obviously doesn't care what
e-mail address you show in the header so long as you've properly
authenticated yourself with your userid and password. The userid is not
the e-mail address, so that isn't a problem.
Now, not all ISP's would work work this way, I'm sure. I know it can't
be done with Yahoo! mail and their smtp server, for example.

But that would be possible with Net-Tamer and the ISP I mention,
cwnet.com, because with another user defined and another configuration,
the "e-mail address" in the setup could be whatever it needed to be to
send mail to a restriced mailing list like the Net-Tamer mailing list.
A separate user setup Net-Tamer is analogous to a separate configuration
in Netmail, I think, though it should be easier to work with.

Avoiding re-dialing would be desirable, and that's where something
different from Net-Tamer is required. There's no getting around having
to redial in order to handle multiple user accounts, even with the same
ISP. That could cost extra money depending on the way the local phone
company or authority bills for calls and time on line.

Yahoo smtp will _not_ accept mail from _any_ domain _other_ than
"yahoo.com" so you can't use a different address in the header.

Yes, the only time I've stayed on line is when manually switching from
one provider to another via Alt-N. However, that isn't automated.

Nope, something has to be different, even if you have the same dialup
numbers, you'd either have different logon user and password or at least
the mail login would be different and the mail address would be
different (such as multiple mailboxes with different domains from the
same provider).

Unfortunately, you're right. There's no way around that in Net-Tamer.
All the dialup numbers listed in a single user setup will use _only_ the
user and password information that is in that user setup. That means
that anything different has to be done from a separate user setup and
that also means that to do it with Net-Tamer, you have to have a batch
file that runs each user setup in sequence. That's a lot of separate
calls. I have four user setups in mine, but only two actual separate ISP
dialups. Then dialup numbers are duplicated in the user setups that use
the same ISP. If I want to do a mail run for the four user setups, I
run the batch and Net-Tamer calls one ISP twice to check for mail at the
different mailboxes and then calls the second ISP to connect to Yahoo!
mail the first time and then to the my mailbox at that second ISP the
second time. That's four separate calls or sessions in order to
automate the process.
