Hello Lionel,

Yes, I have been following the SiS630 thread for a while now and
while some have managed to get the VESA driver to sort of work, no
one has managed it with RedHat 7.x and XFree86-4.0.3 that I'm aware
of.

The bottom line has to be, why buy a board/machine based on the SiS
chipset when heaps of other hardware is suported 'out of the box'. I
fell into the trap because the vendor swore linux would run on the
box and it is shown as a supported chip on the XFree website. However
the SiS driver in XFree86-4.x doesn't work. Maybe in 4.2 ?? One can
live in hope. But if SiS don't give out the specs it's very hard
indeed.

I do appreciate you help though. Without people like yourself these
ngs are useless.

Kind Regards,

Graeme.
