I don't know anything about Linux, but I doubt if it's all that relevant. I certainly had no luck with the SiS630 under FreeBSD using XFree86-4.0.3, but I have it working OK with XFree86-4.1.0. It's giving me 1024x768 properly positioned on my screen (while the earlier releases gave me 640x480 offset an inch or two down and to the right). The only glitch at present is that it only does 8-bit colour, but at least it gives me something I can work with. I think it's worth upgrading to 4.1.x if you have this chip; and maybe later releases will have the colour problem fixed. _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
