Art, just to make sure that I understand what is going on here: the file /usr/X11R6/bin/Xservers when I asked you to check it has the following line at the end of it: :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X Now you have edited that line to: :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X vt7 and this allows you to login and run all the applications that you want, and that was the ONLY change that you made? Yet you can't logout now?
