It is shaft driven... I do plan to inspect all of that in due time. 
However, my most pressing concern is to get the bike rolling again, as it 
is in an inconvenient spot. I have confirmed the brake is not seized, and 
it was immobile prior to dropping/removing shocks. I'm almost positive it 
is stuck in gear... Will double check clutch engagement but I'm pretty sure 
we tried that, that was what led me down the seized brake road. Perhaps 
stuck in gear and clutch not engaging?
