[~aw], there is no tyranny here. We'll gladly accept patches for non-x86
architectures. The erasure encoding feature itself is even usable out of the
box on any architecture.
As a Hadoop committer, I have spent time reviewing patches for "unpopular"
operating systems and non-x86 architectures. You are a Hadoop commiter too, so
you have the same opportunity.
