bump. what's the current status on this?
[~drankye], it looks like you've addressed Allen's concern about `isal.lib`,
but I'm not sure how the current patch addresses the general availability of
ISA-L library support in OS package managers.
[~aw], [~cnauroth] did I accurately capture remaining concerns, given current
patch?
