Couldn't you point to a series of quicktimes that you keep updated through your
nuke renders,

so when you complete a nuke render you also do an automatic qt copy after,
which knows what to call it and renames existing versions to bkp.#### so you
can revert if required.

This way you should be able to get the latest render in your edit assuming a
restart of the app or some reload function.

Assuming files don't get locked that is.

So once you have pointed your edit to the clips first time round you're set.
