The {{NodeState}} instance that gets passed to {{NodeStoreBranch.setRoot()}}
needs to be based on the raw, non-secure state returned from a previous call to
{{getHead()}}. In other words, the changes applied on top of a
{{SecureNodeState}} instance need to be rebased to the underlying state before
being persisted. Any conflicts from this rebasing (like trying to add a new
node on top of a read-protected one) should cause the commit to fail.
