I think that the OBC should allow both anonymous and pseudonymous speech on its mailing list. People need to be able to voice dissent with club policies/procedures without fear of retribution from vindictive individuals once on the road. I really can't think of a legitimate reason to ask a person who has opted to express an (unpopular, critical) opinion in a pseudonymous or anonymous fashion to identify themselves. Asking whether or not the person is a paying member, maybe, but what does it matter what this person's name is? Now, personally, I've been happy with pretty much all of the group rides I've taken with the OBC, and the group leaders that have led them. This person could be a troll, just trying to get the group all riled up, or he/she could have a legitimate beef.
