I also have noticed the bandsaw type noise having stopped, but there is a 
low whirring sound still emanating, continuously in fact. I have wondered 
even about Hospital bend causing some kind of reverberation but it's quite 
a mechanical sound. I had a similar problem two years ago when I did 
actually contact at the City Council noise disturbance department who came 
out and succeeded in Teletech, now moved, then servicing one of their large 
extractor fans, six of which are placed along Lower Main Rd at the old Lion 
match factory near to Bishop Rd. At night Obs can be very quiet, and the 
combined sound of these travels. I'm not sure if a faulty one of these fans 
may be the problem. Once fixed at the time the noise I've heard did stop.
