Hmm, interesting. I guess they could be reading independently, and therefor could read from separate parts of the drive simultaneously. I guess my earlier comment about not being able to do much about seek times is probably false. I suspect that this is not a standard option for SATA Raid. SCSI on a dev machine is fairly hardcore!
