A good part of the confusion is that the OGF seems focused on the OGL--which
does seem a WotC project.

I agree that a notice of why this is so (no other license has stepped up and
said "I'm Open Gaming!" and met your pre-existing test) would be a welcome
addition to the site--and if no one else can, I'd be willing to write it.

(Of course, I'm also a freshman college student, so I'm not the best choice.)
