I agree that this could cause some serious difficulties when it comes to publishing in a magazine. The best way around it of course is the 'fan work' idea. Anything that gets published in a magazine is considered fan work and can get pushed in there because of that. If you get into the Open Gaming Aspect of it, then either the whole magazine is an Open Project with the majority of the mag being considered PI.. OR.. each article get's written under the OGL.. which of course means including the entire contract in itty bitty tiny print at the very bottom of each article that uses it.
