Lycanthrope is a template applied to a humanoid creature. The result, though
type shapechanger for simplicity, is still fundamentally a humanoid.

Barghest are outsiders. Hound Archons are outsiders. Where in the SRD do you
find that outsiders are humanoid shaped?

> What about golems? (type construct)

As constructs, these can take any shape their creators wish. Humanoid is
just a common shape. And again, where in the SRD do you find that golems are
humanoid shaped?

A person who wanted to reach that conclusion would reach that conclusion,
even in the face of known exceptions. No surprise there. But the reasonable
person test does not assume game expertise.
