I do agree with that (although, I tend to look at the "by character class" more as a "well, nothing else fit, so..." entry under the monster in my own campaign, and if anything other than "by character class" is listed, and the creature is intelligent enough, they tend to get character levels when the party gets too uppity...), but especially with the Cloaker Lord, it shows that we can't just assume -abberations- with "by character class" are even vaguely humanish.
