I think they deserve a little love (and a little slack) for trying it. I
agree they did many things wrong, but I was doing stuff wrong too back then
and I had more experience at it than they did.

It's not a matter of them making mistakes. Anyone can make a mistake. Case
in point: The recent Mongoose issue over the Feat book. This product has
just been released and immediately upon being made aware of the problem they
are tending to the errata. They've also cleared up the Prestige Class
Section 15 errors.

But as you indicate, the Chaosium book has been out longer than any other
product, yet there isn't any errata regarding the designations for it. I
still find the product on the shelf of various gaming stores, containing the
same errors in designation.

Also remember, I indicated that I would *like* for them to revisit the book
after the ELH material is released, mostly because I think that much of that
material would better allow them to represent the setting, but also so that
they can correct these earlier misconceptions and errors. I certainly
*would* buy it then. Overall, being that I'm not really interested in their
non-d20 products, all I've done is decide to not buy 2 books that support
the 1 I did buy (bought twice, in fact, when I thought I lost the first one
I had, because I *do* like it and mourned its loss).

If they fix the designations, as is expected of *anyone* using the OGL
(including little fan boys like me), then the problem's fixed. I certainly
don't think they intentionally got stingy and purposely held-out (there are
examples of such on the market, after all), but the same philosophy that
would allow people to not buy Mongoose's Ultimate Feats is the same that
would keep me from buying more of Chaosium's products now: Improper OGC
Designation.

Maybe you read more anger or spite in my last post than I intended to
include; I assure you, this isn't the case. But with all the time that's
gone by, and with all the clarity obtained regarding many of these issues
that you yourself have indicated, the fact that *nothing* has been done to
correct it is something to keep in mind.
