[Winona Online Democracy]

Duane, Our forefathers and foremothers were more forewarding thinking in
many areas, I believe, than the current prevailing thinking of
shortsightness and wanting to get reelected. They were not only better
planners, they understood what community-building was all about, i.e,
sidewalks help to create community when people can walk safely and visit
their neighbors. Porches on homes do contribute to that community also. I
hope this online democracy will be of some assistance to get more people's
voices heard. I enjoy reading all the comments.

BTW, the candidates forum for the County Commissioners Third District
position is tonight at City Hall Council Chambers at 7 PM. Call-in
questions will be taken. Phone 457.8280 to request a particular question
be answered. The forum will end at 8:30 PM - not all questions may be
answered. The intention of the "sorters" is to cover as many different
topics as possible.
