My understanding is that the purpose of OHF is to promote (1) FOSS

then I think "The Foundation for Free Hardware Designs" is a quite
precise name (read: pedantically correct). Omitting closed-class words
the acronym becomes FFHD.

I really like that name, "The Foundation for Free Hardware Designs".

My biggest worry, actually, is the money and time it might cost
Patrick to implement the change. Legal paperwork has already been
submitted, and he would have to submit an addendum. This is one case
where I might explicity ask the FSF for monetary help, if it's that
important to them. Really, the blame rests on me... IIRC, I'm the one
who came up with the name "Open Hardware Foundation." So, if anyone
should pay for the change, it's me or the FSF. Definitely not
Patrick.
