I'm not sure which law (I think it's an invasion of privacy, no application should give out information without the user's consent via the web), but I've heard the idea many times before, and it has been struck down for this reason. Plus, any person smart enough to have a packet sniffer like OTStreamWatcher would see the transmission, and scream bloody murderer. It would end up bad publicity, and someone would make a patch to disable the robot.
