I used to be stuck after a [sort of like after horse riding! ] birth but in
the last couple of years as I have kept the space for women I have been
much less physically involved watching waiting etc often from a corner and
close to women when whispers of encouragment, urgent confirmation of
feelings or sharings are needed I never talk to "vulvas" anymore as I'm sure
if the baby is coming the women will tell me or eventually I 'll find out .
Having said all that I find as I get older the clients care for me more and
more I'm often passed a cushion or my shoulers and back are rubbed a cuupa
is always at the ready and during a long labour Ioften have a snooze .I LOVE
MY BIRTH STOOL AND OFTEN SIT ON IT AT THE SIDE OF THE BIRTH POOL I MOSTLY
USE THE BIRTH STOOL FOR THIRD STAGE . And as another position to try when
someone is desprate to push their baby out and descent is very slow also
when there is fetal heart changes mec liguor in late second stage .
