Your basic argument is sound but your numbers are a little off. 
While a computer may have a 150 or 300 watt power supply it's 
unlikely it will actually be using that much.  A IIci is a better 
choice as a router and it's power consumption is more like 60-70 
watts (going from memory, I don't have the numbers here).  This is 
assuming any monitor is turned off in normal use.  Your wall wart on 
the other hand will be probably be using more power.  While it's 
likely to be using somewhere around 700mA (5.25 Watts) the power 
supply will waste that much again so the real power will be closer to 
10.5 Watts.

The 68K version of IPNR is around $50
