for the last week I have been trying to get IPNetRouter setup to allow us to share a
cable internet connection. The gateway computer is a PPC 6500/300 running 9.1. I have
a farallon comm II slot card and a znyx PCI slot card as the two ethernet connections
with farallon 10/100 5 place switch as the "hub" for our private LAN. The client
machine is a G3 Pismo. The LAN works. I am able to move files between machines with no
problem via file sharing. The cable modem feed (from Adelphia) comes into the PCI slot
card and that works fine. The LAN is connected to the Comm II slot card. But I am not
able to connect to the internet from the Pismo. I have an ongoing support case working
with the Sustainablesoftworks folks but we don't seem to be making much progress.
Everyday the guy there asks me to try something new and I do and nothing changes and I
report that and ask for another suggestion. He believes there is a problem with DNS.
Do any of you folks have experience with this? Any suggestions? Thanks.
