Hello All
I have been following this string with interest since I have a 7600 /
Sonnet crescendo G3.
I have installed 9.2.1 following posts by Lee and the xlr8yourmac.
System boots up with OS9.2.1 welcome screen, extensions, etc. Both
Finder and System Suitcase display version 9.2.
The point of interest here is Gordon's statement that Sonnet Tech
states that 9.2.1 is not supported by their G3 upgrade card.
Does this mean that their G3 card will still "work" with the 9.2.1
upgrade, but the G3 architecture responds as if it were still a 9.1?
That is, it does not recognize all the "improvements" Apple built into
the 9.2.1 upgrade?
As an example, in my 7600, RAM can be either FPM or EDO, but the system
responds as if all were FPM. !
I sort of wonder if its wishful thinking on our part with this 9.2.1 on
unsupported machines
