Did you follow the steps on the new link I posted, which was originally
posted by you?

That involves three easy steps.

Install 9.1, if you are doing the experimental load you mentioned in the
email I am replying to.

Run the Gestalt program and change your Mach id to 510.

Run installer for OS 9.2

Run Rescompare with the patch, if you do not have the patch and rescompare
let me know by private email and I will send them to you.. small download.

Reboot.  No more hacking with resedit..  You will then have the full copy of
OS 9.2.1.  The patch just installs the resources in your system file that
were there for OS 9.1 for older powerPC macs that is not there in the system
folder for older macs as OS 9.2.1 is for G3 original macs and above.. G3
cards do not count as well as G4 cards.
