Kim consider looking to see if the port is damaged at its sodered connection to the mother board...this may be fixable by yourself with careful work with a fine sodering tip...also if the port itself is damaged it may be worth just changing it if you can put out a call for help...someone may be able to send you at the cost of shipping...
