Hello Kim,
If you are not using your modem port for getting on line you can hook
up your printer, HP 5MP, there. I have mine set up that way on an 8500
because my printer port is used by a plotter.

You need to go into your AppleTalk Control Panel and change the
AppleTalk to the modem port. Then in the Chooser you will see both the
modem and printer ports to choose from.

Sorry, it is true. I thought of buying a 9600 on eBay with a bad
printer port. Kyle told me the motherboard would have to be replaced.
Nixed that idea.
