I am wondering if it would be possible to put the printer into an
ethernet switch/hub (along with both computers.)
Then the modem port would still be available for the modem.
And thus, the damaged serial port would be of no importance.
Alternatively, how about running the printer off the other computer,
(the one with printer & modem ports that are both normal.)? Since the
computers are on a network, isn't there a way to do printer sharing?
