At this time to I'm not happy with Comcast. I subscribe to their cable TV service and find it over priced for basic service and not responsive to my needs. Oddly our local utility company which supplies electric and water service has been approved by the state to provide cable TV and Internet service in direct Competition to Comcast. So I plan to try them out for TV and maybe (??) later for Internet service when my anticipated SBC DSL contact expires. <<Then this is ADSL, which does analog telephony and DSL over the same wires?! If it's not, then you'll need that second pair still.>> My understanding is that SBC will provide "DSL filters" (for a price) to allow phone or fax usage while connected -- guess this means it is ASDL. <<IF your DSL service permits multiple computers (and IP assignments for them) then a hub or switch will work just fine.>> No, just one dynamic IP <<IF your DSL service only includes one IP, then you'll need a NAT Router, such as that LinkSys box.>> I found a NAT router on the Swap List, a SMC7004VBR - Barricade for $25. AFAIK, I'm good to go when the router arrives. If I run into any problems -- I will post again. Thanks once again to all who have responded to thread.
