Hope this not too OT. I have a network of 8 Macs some are PCI Macs.

There is a SBC-Yahoo promotion running for DSL service (384 Kbps) in my area
for $27/mo + free DSL modem after "instant rebate."

(comin into this thread late, but)... Good price. Check Comcast's promotions tho, they're offering $19.95/mo in many areas for new subscribers. And Comcast is rolling out 3000/256, as their base speed.

Any listers used this service? If so, any complaints or positive feedback
would be appreciated.

DSL users typically find that if their phone lines, xDSL provider, and ISP are the same company, life is good. But if there's a 3rd party involved, problem resolution is VERY difficult - lots of denial and finger pointing.

It seems for the basic service charge I could eliminate my Internet phone
line, and actually save a buck or two per month.

Then this is ADSL, which does analog telephony and DSL over the same wires?! If it's not, then you'll need that second pair still.
