I was distracted away when I read the email, now I re-read it the imac is a tray loader not a slot loader.
And the keyboard thing works ;)

Glen I also think it's OK for folks to solve the problem in a suitable fashion. And wrote the suggestion to use the paperclip in that spirit.
The paperclip trick was shown to me about ten years ago by a Mac using friend. That's five years before I had a Mac of my own.
And it Certainly works on any disk drive that has a hole to accept a pin. You advised against it in your first message on the subject.
Now you say whatever works is OK !


I would not put my keyboard in the dish washer. But, hey, whatever works ! But many on the list advised against it for valid reasons pertaining to solid state circuitry.

And my unfamiliarity with iMacs which I pointed out and the fact that this is the PCI Macs list qualified all of my responses on this thread.
