No. It was just a question of diagnosis. Besides my own one, I still take care about 8 others 8500. They all have a kind of behavior of willing to start faster as being able to load all necessary items. But in your case I would try this now: Start up Mac, open Ext.Man., choose one of the locked Mac OS settings. Restart and shut down completely.
