BSoD is the industry standard for a Blue Screen of Death.

In the event that you do not know, do not assume.  You only have a 50%
chance to get it right, which comes with a 50% chance to get wrong.  This is
just distributing everything evenly, but in actuality, the chance of getting
it right is less than 50%, thereby meaning you are more likely to get it
wrong.

I think you are getting a bit ahead of yourself here, as you are already
tackling the hardware in the absence of a BSoD, which may be disabled, or
set to reboot the system should a STOP occur.
