Hi All..
Well, the new computer is here. and it's really nice...

I got it all hooked up myself,, no problems with that.. and then last nite,
configured it to the internet.(though it keeps loading up MSN"s homepage.
instead of Earthlinks.. and I go to default. and have it checked right.. but -
it's still does that from time to time)..

BUT, the biggie.. Okay, I had it installed, and it was working GREAT.. But,
within about l/2 hour. I got disconnected.. and KEPT getting disconnected..

I called Dell Tech Support.. and the tech said.. Oh, we have to - reload. XP..
Okay, what do I know, I said, Okay. .

So, after reloading XP.. it seemed to work,, for about 5 minutes.. Well, you
can figure out where this is going. Right.. LOL

YUP.. I got XP..(used to have windows 98) and I GOT IT.. I got the *(&(*&(*
Wo**)... So needless to say. I had no way of getting it off myself.. so I
called Tech Support AGAIN. and spoke to a great support guy. who stayed with
me for almost 2 l/2 hours.. We had to go into Safe mode. so many times. and we
still were getting disconnected.

FINALLY. .we got in. and I got the download.. Loaded it. and got rid of that
darn little. Wo**..!!!!!!

Then we had to reload XP once again, to make sure nothing was infected..

Well, today.. all "seemed well".. I hooked up right away.. sent a few emails..
BUT, I'm using outlook express.. and after about 2 emails. I get.. "out of
memory".. Now we all know THAT can't be right.. So looks like today, will be
spent with dealing with Dell Tech Support once again.

So, thats my story for today..

Hey, I have a floppy - downloaded my bookmarks from Netscape.. and I'm using
IE.. now. I can see them. if I put the floppy into the external floppy drive,
and access them from there.. BUT, I cant seem to save them. to IE.. to their
"favorites".. Any ideas on that.

I did copy, (typed in). my entire address book, so that's done..

Also, I have on the computer, McAfee.. I want to get rid of that..and
download Norton.. I know I have to do it .. OFF LINE. .So I dont' chance -
even for a single second.. getting that wor** again..

So, do I first do a complete uninstall of McAffee.. ??

The reason I like Norton, is that it's Norton System Works. and I like the
features.. But if theres's a reason, NOT to do this. Let me know. and I'll
just keep McAfee for now.

Oh, have to tell you .. This small tower, is awesome.. it's so great.. fits
right on my desk, and this monitor.. WOW!!!!!! It's a 17".. flat screen,,
ultra sharp.. and it's amazing.. I love it..

So, I know I have to deal with all the kinks, that come with a new computer,
and I'm sure it'll be all fixed, ONE DAY. .LOL.. But so far,, I'm pretty
happy.. Darn,, there's no smiley faces here in Outlook.. Oh well, I AM
smiling.

Talk to you later, And THANKS to all of you,, for all your help.. I"ll be
needing it SOON, I can promise you.

Helene
