Hi Ben. Thanks. Yes, I should be up and running shortly.. The CD's arrived today. but no call from the service,, so maybe tomorrow..
I forgot to mention, that on Tues morn.. when I was having problems.. the tech I spoke with.. he decided to do a system restore.. So, we restored it to the day before. and what did that do.. Well, it took away. the patches I had downloaded.. Just great.. LOL But then the other tech. later. around noontime, he was the one who ordered those CD's. and also the one who helped me Tues nite, and got things "almost back".. so at least I can browse and use my emails. Yes, I will have the service tech. stay with me.. while the patches download. Thanks.. great suggestion. I'm anxious to "play with it". To learn all the programs.. It's funny, when I got my Gateway, 5 years ago. I got 6 or 7 manuals with it. This computer.. just came with one small book, and I asked about it. and he said, YUP. thats the procedure lately, in the industry.. They dont' send books for every program. etc... I have, (to give to my niece). even the book on Word, etc. I had so many that came with my original gateway. Speaking of which, I have to bring it to my moms. and I"m going to try to get things off it over there. I'll try again, with the BC wipe. but if I can't do that. I'll just do a format. Thanks again.
