Actually, this is to be somewhat expected of AF lenses compared with manual focus 
lenses.
AF lenses require more opening to the air so that there is less air resistance for 
faster
focusing. Couple that with the fact that in an automatic system more actual focusing 
takes
place bringing more air exchange and you have a greater opportunity for crap to get
inside. Everyone's mileage will vary.
